How foreigners buy a villa in Thailand
Foreigners cannot own land in their own name in Thailand, so villas are usually bought in one of two ways. A registered lease of the land for up to 30 years, with the house owned in your name, is the most common. Some buyers use a Thai company structure, which must be set up correctly by a lawyer.
